KIT Diploma in Accounting Studies

Aim:


This diploma program is to provide essential accounting skills required by I-Kiribati accountants to be able to prepare general purpose and management reports required by owner/managers and chief executives in companies such as sole traders, partnerships, co-operatives, clubs & societies, and private and public sector companies as well as statutory corporations.

This accounting program is in-line with those accounting diplomas offered by other regional organizations such as the University of the South Pacific, Fiji institute of Technology, TAFE Australia and New Zealand Polytechnics.

The program covers specialized topics in the field of financial management, financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, company accounting and taxation (Goods & Services Tax) in both manual and computerized accounting.

  • Spreadsheet Fundamentals (offered by Computer Dept)
  • Business Statistics (offered by Maths & Science Dept)

 


Entry Requirements:

Form 5 or have worked in government or private businesses for at least one year.
